Valmet to Supply Automation System for CO2 Liquefaction Plant in Finland
Valmet will deliver a Distributed Control System for a CO2 liquefaction facility at Auris Energia's biogas plant in Mäntsälä, Finland. This project represents a significant advancement in carbon capture technology, supporting the green transition by converting CO2 emissions into reusable industrial materials.

Valmet has been contracted by Suomen Biovoima Oy to provide a Valmet DNAe Distributed Control System for a CO2 liquefaction plant associated with Auris Energia's biogas facility, marking Finland's first implementation of this technology. The project aims to capture CO2 generated during biogas production and repurpose it for industrial applications, contributing to a circular economy and reducing the carbon footprint of energy production.
Scheduled for phased delivery in November 2026, with installation in December 2026 and operational startup in Q1 2027, the system enhances resource efficiency through advanced automation, real-time monitoring, and minimizes manual intervention. Valmet's lifecycle approach ensures ongoing support and system upgrades, promoting long-term operational efficiency.
