Vioneo Relocates Green Methanol-based Polypropylene Plant from Belgium to China
Vioneo is relocating its green methanol-based polypropylene plant from Antwerp, Belgium, to China to optimize supply chain efficiency and access to green methanol. The new facility will produce 200,000 tons per annum of fully traceable, CO2-negative plastics, helping customers reduce their Scope 3 emissions. This move aligns with Vioneo's commitment to scaling fossil-free plastics globally while maintaining technology partnerships and sustainability goals.

Vioneo is relocating its first bioplastics project from Antwerp, Belgium, to China to leverage proximity to green methanol supplies, enhancing pricing, supply chain efficiency, CO2 savings, and market entry speed. The new plant will have a capacity of 200,000 tons per annum (KTA) and will utilize 100% segregated green propylene and ethylene as feedstock to produce polypropylene grades.
The resulting plastics will be fully traceable and CO2 negative, aiding customers in reducing their Scope 3 emissions. Vioneo aims to scale fossil-free plastics globally to meet increasing customer demand while maintaining its technology partnerships and sustainability commitments.
