Wartsila to Supply Future-Ready Engine for Allseas Group Vessel in China
Wärtsilä has been chosen to supply an engine for a new semi-submersible heavy transport vessel being built by Allseas Group at Guangzhou Shipyard International, with delivery anticipated in Q1 2028. The Wärtsilä 31 engine features a modular design for reduced maintenance and the ability to utilize alternative sustainable fuels, along with an NOx reducer for nitrogen oxide emissions. This selection offers the shipowner flexibility to transition to fuels such as methanol or ammonia in the future.

Wartsila has been selected to supply an engine for a new Allseas Group semi-submersible heavy transport vessel under construction at Guangzhou Shipyard International, China. The engine order was booked in Q4 2025, with delivery of the vessel expected in Q1 2028.
The Wärtsilä 31 engine was chosen for its modular design, which reduces maintenance costs and requirements, and its capability to use alternative sustainable fuels. The engine will also include an NOx reducer for nitrogen oxide reduction. This selection provides the shipowner with flexibility to convert to fuels like methanol or ammonia as they become available.
