Waterloo City Council Approves New Grocery Store Developments
Waterloo City Council has sanctioned amendments to enable grocery stores in two neighborhoods, potentially enhancing local job creation. The developments are set for Phillip Street and Weber Street North, with specific site allowances established.

The Waterloo City Council has approved amendments facilitating the construction of grocery stores in the Phillip Street and Weber Street North areas. The designated sites include 388 Phillip Street, where a store can occupy up to 5,500 square meters, and 200 Weber Street North.
Additionally, a horizontal connection to a vertical geothermal system is permitted at the Phillip location. These changes aim to boost job creation in the affected neighborhoods, reflecting a strategic approach to urban development.
