Wave-Op to Study Wave Energy Feasibility in Ferrol, Spain
Wave-Op will assess the viability of its wave energy technology in Ferrol, Spain, funded by the EU's Interreg program. This initiative aims to support port energy transitions, decarbonization, and digital upgrades.

Wave-Op has been contracted by the Autoridad Portuaria de Ferrol-San Cibrao to conduct a feasibility study for its wave energy technology at the port of Ferrol. The project is part of the Enerports initiative, backed by the EU's Interreg Atlantic Area program.
Wave-Op's Dikwe system, which utilizes oscillating flaps for electricity generation, is currently being prototyped with a capacity of 360 kW in Boulogne-sur-Mer. The outcomes of this research may have significant implications for the adoption of renewable energy technologies in port operations, potentially influencing future energy policies.
