West Bengal Budget Allocates Rs 1,200 Crore for Ghatal Plan and Semiconductor Unit in Durgapur
West Bengal's government has unveiled a budget that includes a Rs 1,200 crore investment for the Ghatal Master Plan and the establishment of a semiconductor manufacturing unit in Durgapur. These initiatives aim to enhance flood management, bolster industrial growth, and attract technology investments in the region.

The West Bengal government announced a Rs 1,200 crore allocation for the Ghatal Master Plan to improve flood management in Medinipur. Additionally, plans for a semiconductor manufacturing unit in Durgapur were introduced, targeting the growing semiconductor sector in India.
The budget also proposed the development of an IT park in Siliguri to enhance the state's digital economy. Efforts to revive the Calcutta Stock Exchange and a review of the Urban Land Ceiling and Regulation Act were also highlighted. The initiatives are expected to stimulate industrial development and create employment opportunities, while the metro rail survey in Durgapur could further enhance its industrial prospects.
