Wipro Enterprises Explores Semiconductor Sector Entry via OSAT Partnerships
Wipro Enterprises is considering entering the semiconductor sector through outsourced semiconductor assembly and test (OSAT). The company is seeking a technology partner as it explores this strategy amidst growing investments from Indian conglomerates in semiconductor manufacturing. Notable projects include HCL's Rs 3,700 crore facility in Uttar Pradesh and Tata Group's Rs 27,000 crore plant in Assam. In parallel, Mitsui is partnering with Kaynes Semicon to develop semiconductor manufacturing in India, supporting the Make in India initiative.
