Wuhan Launches USD145 Million Fund for Commercialization of Academic Research
Wuhan has established a CNY1 billion (USD145 million) mother fund to support the industrialization of research led by academicians from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering. The Jiangcheng Academician Mother Fund will provide early-stage investments and guide private capital, aiming to enhance the commercialization of scientific achievements and boost hard-tech industries.

Wuhan has initiated the Jiangcheng Academician Mother Fund, a CNY1 billion (USD145 million) initiative aimed at commercializing high-level research from academicians associated with the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering. Managed by Jiangcheng Industrial Investment Fund Wuhan, the fund will offer comprehensive capital support for various stages of technology development, including proof of concept and pilot production.
The initiative seeks to synergize academic expertise with industrial and capital resources, addressing the low commercialization rate of academic research. Jiangcheng Industrial Investment Fund Wuhan, with a total scale of CNY12 billion (USD1.7 billion), is a state-owned fund established to support the semiconductor industry.
