York County Organizations Plan Housing and Safety Projects Funded by Federal Bill
Three organizations in Sanford and Wells, Maine, will initiate projects supported by federal funding from the Transportation, Housing and Urban Development Appropriations bill. York County Community College will receive $6.5 million for student and workforce housing, while the Sanford Housing Authority will get $2.5 million for workforce and senior housing. The Sanford Fire Department will also benefit from $5 million to support new facilities.

Three organizations in Sanford and Wells, Maine, will implement projects funded by $103 billion from the Transportation, Housing and Urban Development Appropriations bill. York County Community College is set to receive $6.5 million for an apartment-style housing project providing 150 to 170 beds for students and short-term workforce housing.
The Sanford Housing Authority will receive $2.5 million for new workforce and senior housing, aiming to assist middle-income workers and older adults. Additionally, the Sanford Fire Department will obtain $5 million towards new facilities, including a headquarters and a substation in Springvale, contributing to a total project cost of $40 million.
