140 Million Euros in European Launcher Challenge Funding Unallocated Amid Company Withdrawals
Approximately 140 million euros of the European Launcher Challenge funding remains unallocated, with 117.8 million euros unallocated as various member states reassess their contributions. The UK and Norway have redirected some funds to aerospace companies, while UK-based Orbex has withdrawn from the program after filing for administration.

Nearly 140 million euros allocated by European Space Agency (ESA) member states for the European Launcher Challenge is unallocated, risking loss of funds. Member states pledged over 900 million euros at ESA's ministerial conference in November for companies including Isar Aerospace and PLD Space.
However, 117.8 million euros remains unallocated, primarily from the UK. The UK has reassigned 8.4 million euros to Rocket Factory Augsburg, while Norway redirected 4.8 million euros to Isar Aerospace.
UK-based Orbex withdrew from the program after filing for administration, affecting 34.9 million euros in contributions. ESA is proceeding with funding for the remaining companies and has issued tenders.
