Acorn Bioenergy Seeks Hazardous Substance Consent for Devon Anaerobic Digestion Facility
Acorn Bioenergy Limited has applied for hazardous substances consent for a proposed anaerobic digestion facility in Devon. The decision is pending from Devon County Council, which will assess compliance with safety regulations.

Acorn Bioenergy Limited has submitted an application for hazardous substances consent for a new anaerobic digestion facility located at Devon Green Power, Willand, near Cullompton. Devon County Council is responsible for determining approval under the Planning (Hazardous Substances) Act 1990.
The council will evaluate the proposal after the consultation period ends on 22 June 2026, which includes reviewing public representations. If granted, the consent may impose regulations on storage limits and safety systems, while the facility must also adhere to other necessary permits. This facility aims to process organic material for biogas production, which could impact local agricultural practices.
