Adamant Group Acquires Biorefinery in Milan to Enhance Advanced Biofuels Production
Adamant Group has acquired a majority stake in a biorefinery in Milan, enhancing its capabilities in advanced biofuels. The facility, operating under Xanthos S.r.l., has a refining capacity of 8,000 tonnes per month, supporting markets like HVO and bio-bunker fuels. The acquisition aims to improve product specifications, traceability, and operational flexibility in line with European sustainability mandates. Strategic partnerships with SAAR Depositi Portuali and Medara Trading further bolster the project, which is set to commence operations in March 2026.

Adamant Group has acquired a majority stake in a biorefinery located in Milan, now named Xanthos S.r.l., which features a refining capacity of approximately 8,000 tonnes per month. This acquisition enables Adamant to integrate technical expertise, feedstock sourcing, and logistics, enhancing their operations in advanced biofuels, including bio-bunker fuels.
The facility supports multiple processes, increasing flexibility to adapt to feedstock quality changes. The feedstocks used are certified sustainable, achieving over 80% CO2 savings compared to fossil fuels.
The partnership with SAAR Depositi Portuali and Medara Trading combines expertise in industrial processing and logistics, improving execution and reducing risks. The biorefinery is expected to start operations in March 2026, with a focus on meeting European sustainability standards.
