Adamant Group Acquires Biorefinery in Milan to Enhance Advanced Biofuels Production
Adamant Group has acquired a majority stake in a biorefinery located in Milan, now named Xanthos S.r.l., which features a refining capacity of approximately 8,000 tonnes per month. This acquisition enables Adamant to integrate technical expertise, feedstock sourcing, and logistics, enhancing their operations in advanced biofuels, including bio-bunker fuels.
The facility supports multiple processes, increasing flexibility to adapt to feedstock quality changes. The feedstocks used are certified sustainable, achieving over 80% CO2 savings compared to fossil fuels.
The partnership with SAAR Depositi Portuali and Medara Trading combines expertise in industrial processing and logistics, improving execution and reducing risks. The biorefinery is expected to start operations in March 2026, with a focus on meeting European sustainability standards.
