Alberta Invests $28 Million in Six Emission Reduction Projects for Energy Sector
The Government of Alberta is investing $28 million through the TIER program to support six projects aimed at reducing carbon emissions and enhancing energy efficiency. The projects include technologies for pipeline safety, renewable natural gas production, and methane reduction from agriculture. If successful, these initiatives are expected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 72,000 tonnes annually and generate $166.5 million in GDP by 2027.

Alberta's government is investing $28 million in six projects aimed at improving environmental performance and reducing carbon emissions through the TIER program. Funded by carbon pricing revenues, these projects include technologies for safer pipeline infrastructure, renewable natural gas production from agricultural waste, and methane reduction.
Announced in Coaldale, the initiatives are projected to lower greenhouse gas emissions by 72,000 tonnes annually and contribute $166.5 million to the province's economy by 2027. Individual project funding ranges from $625,000 to $12 million.
