Anderson Completes 750-kW Solar Installation at Wastewater Treatment Plant
The city of Anderson has finalized a 750-kilowatt solar project at its wastewater treatment facility, projected to save $7.5 million over 20 years. This initiative aims to reduce utility costs for taxpayers while enhancing long-term infrastructure sustainability.

Anderson's solar installation at the wastewater treatment plant, now operational, is designed to cut utility expenses significantly. The collaboration with Schneider Electric facilitated the project, which was completed ahead of schedule and within budget.
The solar panels, now performing at 125% efficiency, will serve the city's primary energy-consuming facility. This project is part of a broader strategy to invest in sustainable infrastructure, with a focus on long-term savings for the community. While immediate returns may not be evident, the initiative reflects a commitment to future cost reductions for local taxpayers.
