APC Completes Recoating of Ardmore Tankers, Enhancing Operational Efficiency
Advanced Polymer Coatings has implemented a recoating program for six Ardmore Shipping tankers, improving efficiency and emissions performance. The use of MarineLINE coating allows for greater operational flexibility, impacting the market positioning of Ardmore's fleet.

Advanced Polymer Coatings (APC) has executed a recoating program on six Ardmore Shipping tankers, enhancing operational efficiency and emissions performance. The vessels, originally epoxy-coated and now fitted with MarineLINE, are approximately ten years old and can handle aggressive cargoes like methanol and biofuels more effectively.
The recoating was performed at Chengxi Shipyard in China. MarineLINE's heat-cured polymer creates a low-permeability barrier, reducing cleaning times from up to ten days to about three, improving turnaround and cargo flexibility.
This operational advantage could lead to significant financial gains for Ardmore, particularly in the spot market. The MarineLINE system has been applied to around 700 vessels globally, with a service life exceeding 20 years in some cases.
