Argentina Extends Biofuels Program to 2030; Global Mandates on Biofuels Progress Through 2026

Argentina's lower house approved an extension of its biofuels program until 2030, maintaining ethanol at 12% and biodiesel at 7.5%, with consultations to increase biodiesel to B15 by 2026. Australia's federal review confirmed state biofuel mandates, with Queensland and New South Wales maintaining current obligations until a national framework is introduced in 2027.

Brazil will raise its biodiesel mandate from B14 to B15 in March 2025, while Canada’s Clean Fuel Regulations will enforce carbon-intensity reductions starting mid-2024. China is reactivating ethanol blending pilots, aiming for E10 in half of gasoline sales by late 2025.

Colombia's biodiesel mandate increased to B13, and the EU is preparing for stricter renewable energy targets under RED III. India plans to achieve nationwide E20 by March 2026. Indonesia implemented a B35 biodiesel mandate in August 2023.

Malaysia aims for B30 by the end of 2025. The Philippines will raise biodiesel content to B3 in mid-2025. South Africa's biofuels framework relaunch is set for January 2026.
