In 2025, renewable energy sources accounted for 40.21% of Argentina's national electricity demand, equating to 56799 GWh out of a total demand of 141249.245 GWh. The Cámara de Generadores y Cadena de Valor de Energías Renovables (CEA) reported that its members generated 16284 GWh, 68.8% of the national wind and solar generation.

The renewable energy matrix included 2.5% from small hydropower and 2.8% from bioenergy. The energy sector achieved a historic trade surplus of USD 7815 million, with record energy exports of USD 11086 million, partly due to the shift from thermal generation to unconventional renewable energy.

In 2025, 738 MW of new renewable capacity was added, including solar, wind, and biomass projects across various provinces, supported by contracts like MATER and RenovAR. The CEA emphasized the importance of maintaining predictable regulations and infrastructure planning for continued sector growth.
