ASEAN Centre for Energy Consults on Biofuel Cooperation Framework
The ASEAN Centre for Energy hosted an online workshop on April 1 to establish a regional biofuel cooperation framework. This initiative aims to enhance regional collaboration in biofuel development, aligning with the ASEAN Renewable Energy roadmap and addressing sustainability standards.

On April 1, the ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE) conducted a virtual workshop focusing on the ASEAN Biofuel Cooperation Framework under the SPICES Project. The session aimed to validate the framework's direction, aligning it with the ASEAN biofuel roadmap, and included discussions on biofuel standards and stakeholder governance.
Participating countries, including Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines, provided insights on national approaches to biofuel harmonization. The workshop addressed existing gaps in sustainability standards and proposed strategies for improved regional cooperation, essential for meeting the goals of the ASEAN Renewable Energy Long-term Roadmap and APAEC 2026-2030.
