Governor Daniel R. Fernando, alongside the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office, provided relief to families in Obando affected by a Navotas landfill fire on April 10. Assistance included food packs, cash aid, and essential items for children and seniors.
Following this, Fernando outlined plans for waste-to-energy and biogas facilities in San Ildefonso, aimed at reducing waste and contributing to electricity supply through incineration. This public-private partnership initiative, based on Japanese studies, will be the first of its kind in the Philippines and is set to begin construction soon. The strategies may help mitigate future waste management issues in Bulacan.
