Canada Invests Over $300 Million in National Launch Infrastructure for Space Sovereignty by 2028
Canada is investing over CAD 300 million to establish national launch capabilities and domestically produced rockets by 2028, prioritizing space access as a national security imperative. The initiative includes a CAD 200 million lease with Maritime Launch Services for a dedicated launch pad at Spaceport Nova Scotia. The 'Launch the North' program aims to develop small launch vehicles, with CAD 105 million allocated, supporting companies like Canada Rocket Company, NordSpace, and Reaction Dynamics. Additionally, Canada joins the NATO Starlift project for collaborative launch capabilities.
