Cargill to Start Canola Crush Facility in Regina with 1 Million Metric Tonnes Capacity
BIOFUELS
Cargill's canola crush facility in Regina is set to become operational this spring after delays from construction challenges and economic factors. The project began in 2022 and was initially scheduled to open in fall 2023.
Located in the Global Transportation Hub, the facility will enhance access to canola from various areas without navigating through Regina. It will utilize multiple rail lines for efficient operations. Upon completion, the facility will have an annual production capacity of 1 million metric tonnes, producing crude canola oil for food and biofuel markets, as well as canola meal for animal feed.
