Chatham-Kent Council Approves $160M Waste-to-Energy Project with Greenfield Global
Chatham-Kent Council has unanimously approved a $160 million Waste-to-Energy project in partnership with Greenfield Global. The facility will convert organic waste into Renewable Natural Gas. Funding includes $60 million from government sources and $40 million in equity investment, with the remainder financed through debt. The project has been in development since 2021 and aims to start operations with waste primarily from the Greenfield facility. A final vote is scheduled for April 27.

A final engineered estimate will be presented before the April 27 vote.
