In Thanh Hoa Province, Vietnam, a criminal investigation has commenced regarding a workplace accident at a pig farm operated by Dabaco Thanh Hoa, where five workers died and eight were injured on July 18. Initial findings indicate possible breaches of occupational safety and hygiene laws, leading to proceedings under Article 295 of Vietnam's Penal Code, which addresses serious safety infractions.
The incident occurred when a worker fell unconscious into a biogas pit due to toxic gas, prompting 12 colleagues to attempt a rescue without protective gear, resulting in multiple casualties. Authorities are working with relevant agencies to assess responsibility among those involved.
