Damen Delivers Second CF 3850 Combi Freighter to Reederei Bernd Sibum with Sustainable Features
Damen Shipyards Group has delivered the second of four Combi Freighters 3850 to Reederei Bernd Sibum on March 25, following successful sea trials in Shanghai. The vessels are designed for efficiency, capable of operating on 100% biofuel and prepared for hybrid propulsion, funded in part by the German Government. The NaMKü program aims to reduce the environmental impact of coastal shipping, with the vessels featuring hybrid systems, shore power connections, and Econowind Ventifoils to enhance sustainability.

On March 25, Damen delivered the second of four CF 3850 Combi Freighters to Reederei Bernd Sibum after sea trials in Shanghai. The vessels, built at Damen Yichang Shipyard, are designed for high efficiency, operating on 100% biofuel and ready for hybrid propulsion.
Funded by the German Government, the NaMKü program supports sustainable modifications, including hybrid propulsion and shore power connections. Econowind Ventifoils will cut fuel consumption by 12.5%. Damen conducted Hardware-in-the-Loop testing for system validation. The CF 3850 vessels incorporate Damen Triton IoT for real-time optimization.
