Delaware Launches Assessment of Wastewater Infrastructure in Manufactured Home Communities
DNREC initiates a statewide evaluation of wastewater and drinking water systems in over 170 manufactured home communities. This assessment aims to identify infrastructure needs and connect communities with necessary resources.

The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) has commenced an assessment of wastewater and drinking water infrastructure at manufactured home communities (MHCs) statewide, identifying over 170 such communities. This initiative, supported by U.S.
EPA grants and State Revolving Fund money, focuses on documenting MHCs, of which 98 operate on-site wastewater treatment systems, many of which are outdated and lack inspection requirements. The project began in late 2025, aiming to gather baseline data to facilitate improvements and enhance communication between residents and property owners. Effective upgrades to these systems are essential to address public health concerns and ensure compliance with regulations.
