EcoGeo Invests R$ 140 Million in Biogas Plant in Goiás for Public Transport Decarbonization
EcoGeo's R$ 140 million investment will fund Goiás' first commercial biogas plant, aimed at supplying renewable fuel to public transport in Goiânia. This initiative is critical for reducing fossil fuel dependency and enhancing local energy security.

EcoGeo has announced a R$ 140 million investment for a biogas plant in Guapó, Goiás, designed to produce 30,000 m³ of biogas per day. The facility will support the Metropolitan Transport Network (RMTC) in Goiânia, integrating renewable energy into public transport and positioning the city as a leader in low-emission transportation.
The project's unique aspect includes a dedicated 25-km gas pipeline, ensuring efficient delivery of biogas to transport hubs. With operations expected to commence in 24 months, it aims to generate approximately 40 direct and over 100 indirect jobs. This initiative will also enhance energy security and reduce reliance on volatile fossil fuel markets.
