Eni to Supply Renewable Fuels and Sustainable Technologies for Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Games
Eni is set to supply over 90% renewable fuels for the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Games as part of its commitment to carbon neutrality by 2050. The company will provide an 'arctic' HVO diesel biofuel from its Venice biorefinery for approximately 250 electricity generators, aiming to cut greenhouse gas emissions by 70% to 80%. Additionally, Eni, in collaboration with Versalis, has developed Olympic torches featuring recycled materials and bio-LPG for their burners.

Eni is working towards carbon neutrality by 2050 and will supply more than 90% renewable fuels for the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. This includes an 'arctic' HVO diesel biofuel produced at their Venice biorefinery, designed for high-altitude applications and capable of operating at temperatures as low as -28°C.
Approximately 250 electricity generators will use this biofuel, potentially reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 70% to 80%. Additionally, Eni, in partnership with Versalis, has created the first Olympic torches with ReMade® Class A certification for recycled materials. The torches' burners will utilize bio-LPG from Eni's Gela biorefinery, and their handles will include a polymer insert made from bio-naphtha.
