BIOFUELS

FortisBC Energy Inc. will reduce its gas rate from $2.230 to $1.660 per gigajoule on April 1, 2026, as approved by the British Columbia Utilities Commission (BCUC). Average residential customers will experience a monthly bill decrease of about $4.15, based on typical consumption of 7.5 gigajoules.

The Renewable Natural Gas rate will also decrease from $9.23 to $8.66 per gigajoule. These changes are primarily due to warmer weather in the Pacific Northwest. FortisBC's gas pricing is influenced by market-based factors, and rates are reviewed regularly by the BCUC.
