Gasrec Opens Bio-LNG Refuelling Facility at Hams Hall
Gasrec's new bio-LNG facility at Hams Hall can fuel up to 1,000 trucks daily, supporting a shift toward sustainable logistics. This initiative aims to significantly reduce emissions, with a target of fueling 150,000 gas-powered trucks daily by 2030, potentially saving 650,000 tonnes of CO2 annually.

Gasrec has inaugurated its bio-LNG refuelling facility at Hams Hall logistics hub, capable of servicing up to 1,000 trucks daily at full capacity. The site, which opened in late 2025, is part of a broader strategy to establish a national biomethane infrastructure, with plans for additional stations in Warrington and Avonmouth in the coming years.
Industry leaders from Arla Foods, Centrica, and Volvo Trucks highlighted the advantages of transitioning to Bio-LNG, including cost savings and lower emissions. Gasrec aims to fuel 150,000 gas trucks per day by 2030, which could lead to a reduction of approximately 650,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually.
