Gasum Expands Biogas Station in Joensuu for Heavy-Duty Vehicles
Gasum has launched an expanded liquefied biogas filling station in Joensuu, enhancing fuel access for heavy-duty vehicles. This development is crucial for improving operational reliability for local bus services managed by Savonlinja in Eastern Finland.

Gasum's new liquefied biogas (LBG) filling station in Joensuu has commenced operations, now accommodating heavy-duty vehicles alongside existing lighter vehicle services. This facility, Finland's easternmost of its kind, adds to Gasum's network of 23 LBG stations, enhancing fuel availability in Eastern Finland.
The expansion will notably support Savonlinja, which plans to increase its gas bus fleet to 55 by August, providing reliable local transport. The introduction of additional refuelling points is expected to alleviate previous gas shortages. Biogas is projected to reduce emissions by 90% compared to diesel, making it a favorable option for transport companies aiming for sustainability.
