GICON Wins ThEGA Tender to Support Biogas Operators in Thüringen
GICON has been awarded a consultancy contract by the Thüringer Umweltministerium and ThEGA to assist agricultural biogas operators facing the end of their EEG funding period. The initiative aims to help operators develop sustainable operational strategies to maintain their market presence. Participation is free for Thüringen-based operators. Following an assessment of technical and economic documents, GICON will provide tailored recommendations to support modernization and investment decisions, ensuring biogas remains a key component of the region's energy supply.

GICON has won a consultancy contract to assist agricultural biogas operators in Thüringen as many facilities near the end of their 20-year EEG funding period. The Thüringer Umweltministerium and ThEGA initiated this support to help operators create viable strategies for long-term market participation.
All operators whose funding ends in the next three to four years can register for free assistance. GICON will conduct a review of technical and economic documents followed by on-site visits to evaluate various criteria.
Results will be compiled into a prioritized action plan to support investment decisions. This initiative aims to ensure biogas continues to play a significant role in Thüringen's energy transition.
