Greece's Hydrogen Projects Highlighted in ENTSO-G Development Plan
Greece is advancing several hydrogen initiatives, including a 2032 interconnection with Bulgaria aiming to transport 0.9 million tons annually. The ENTSO-G development plan identifies 243 hydrogen projects out of 345, signaling a significant focus on hydrogen infrastructure.

The ENTSO-G development plan outlines several hydrogen projects in Greece, including a hydrogen interconnection with Bulgaria targeting 0.9 million tons per year by 2032. Notable projects include the Cretan H2 Hub, developed by Eunice, which consists of a production plant and export terminal, also expected to be operational by 2032.
The Thalis 1 electrolyzer facility, in partnership with Motor Oil and DESFA, is set for launch in 2032, with connections to the H2DRIA pipeline projected for 2040. Expansion of the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) includes a new compressor station in Kipoi, increasing capacity from 10 to 14.2 billion cubic meters annually.
Overall, the ENTSO-G plan shows a shift towards hydrogen, although delays in green hydrogen investments pose risks to competitiveness. The impact of the ongoing energy crisis may influence future developments.
