Green River Invites Rawlins Council for Wastewater Plant Tour Following $55M Investment
Green River has completed a $55 million wastewater treatment plant recently funded by state loans and grants. This project highlights ongoing infrastructure improvements in Wyoming, as neighboring Rawlins is also enhancing its water systems.

Green River's new wastewater treatment plant has been officially operational since January 2024, following a total investment of $55 million. This includes a $45.1 million Clean Water State Revolving Fund loan and a $7.5 million American Rescue Plan Act grant.
Construction was awarded to Bodell Construction in April 2023, with costs rising due to inflation and delays. The Rawlins City Council expressed interest in touring the facility, as they undertake similar infrastructure upgrades, including $5.7 million in repairs to their water transmission line. Understanding the rapid completion of Green River's project could provide valuable insights for ongoing initiatives in Rawlins and Riverton.
