Iberdrola Sells Gas Assets in Spain to Edison Next as Part of Asset Rotation Strategy

Iberdrola has completed the sale of its gas assets portfolio for slurry treatment in Spain to Edison Next. The portfolio includes five operational slurry treatment plants totaling 52 MW, developed over 20 years, and four biomethane projects under development.
This sale aligns with Iberdrola's asset rotation and alliance strategy, focusing on sectors with higher growth potential, such as electrical networks and renewable energy. Recent transactions by Iberdrola include acquiring Previ's stake in Neoenergía, a takeover bid for 100% of the Brazilian subsidiary, a €5.2 billion alliance with Masdar for the East Anglia Three offshore wind farm in the UK, and divestments in Mexico, Hungary, and France.
