ICM, Inc. and Energy Integration Inc., LLC have announced a strategic partnership to commercialize mechanical vapor recompression (MVR) systems specifically for the ethanol industry. ICM will integrate EII's patented Doublr™ MVR technology into its design, engineering, procurement, and construction services, enhancing energy efficiency across biofuels.

The MVR system, operational in an ICM-designed facility since 2020, captures waste heat from vapors and reuses it by increasing their pressure and temperature, thereby reducing energy demand and carbon intensity. This technology can adapt to various distillation configurations, making it versatile for different plant designs.
