Inauguration of 8 MW Solar Power Plants in Medenine, Tunisia
Four 2 MW photovoltaic solar power plants in Medenine have commenced operations, contributing to Tunisia's renewable energy goals. With a total investment of 16 million dinars, these plants aim to lower electricity production costs and reduce reliance on natural gas imports.

Four photovoltaic solar plants, each with a capacity of 2 MW, were inaugurated in Medenine, Tunisia, on April 4. The total investment for these facilities is 16 million dinars, anticipated to decrease annual electricity production costs by approximately 1.5 million dinars and reduce natural gas imports by about 4.5 million dinars.
These projects align with Tunisia's energy strategy, targeting 35% electricity from renewables by 2030. Additionally, a conversion station on the Ras Jedir-Ben Guerdane road is 82% complete, aimed at ensuring continuous electricity supply, with an estimated cost of 17 million dinars. The completion of these initiatives is crucial for enhancing energy security and addressing climate challenges.
