The Curitiba region in southern Brazil is witnessing nearly R$9 billion in investments from three major manufacturers, including LG, Grupo Potencial, and Horse Powertrain. LG's R$2 billion ($400 million) factory is set to produce refrigerators and create approximately 1,000 jobs, marking its second operational site in Brazil.
Grupo Potencial's R$6 billion investment in biofuels aims to capitalize on Brazil's leadership in ethanol production. Horse Powertrain is also expanding in the area, focusing on auto parts. The Paraná state has facilitated this growth through investment incentives, showcasing political stability and an efficient business environment. This clustering of industries may attract more investors, while the diverse production sectors could mitigate risks associated with economic downturns.
