J. Mendes has unveiled a project at the Mining Processing Latam Forum 2026 focusing on the production of 5.5 million tons per year of high-quality iron ore pellet feed. The initiative utilizes advanced beneficiation methods, including comminution, high-intensity magnetic separation, and flotation, to maximize metal recovery and produce concentrates with over 68% iron content.

This effort aims to reduce impurities and support lower carbon emissions in steel production, particularly through direct reduction processes and electric arc furnaces.
