Karnataka and J&K Initiate Bioenergy Collaboration Discussions
A Karnataka delegation has met with J&K officials to explore collaboration in bioenergy, emphasizing investment incentives and policy alignment. This partnership aims to enhance bioenergy production through shared knowledge and resources.

A delegation from Karnataka, led by S.E. Sudheendra, discussed potential collaboration with Jammu & Kashmir's Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to enhance bioenergy initiatives. The meeting focused on Karnataka's bioenergy action plan and a new policy designed to attract investments in biomass-based energy such as biodiesel and biogas.
Abdullah noted J&K's draft bioenergy policy aims for commercialization and private sector involvement. Both regions are considering policy alignment and knowledge sharing to bolster the bioenergy sector, with future visits planned for further cooperation discussions.
