Karnataka Seeks Global Investments in Bioenergy at India Energy Week 2026
Karnataka is actively pursuing large domestic and foreign investments in the bioenergy sector, as stated by S E Sudheendra, Chairman of the Karnataka State Bioenergy Development Board, at India Energy Week 2026 in Goa. The event, organized by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, included participation from major energy companies such as ONGC and GAIL, and featured a delegation from Brunei Darussalam, led by Deputy Energy Minister Dato Azmi Hanifah.
Sudheendra outlined the state's initiatives to create a conducive environment for bioenergy investments, including plans for issuing licenses for biofuel outlets and extending infrastructure support. These efforts are part of Karnataka's broader strategy to achieve energy self-sufficiency through bioenergy initiatives.
