Kerala Solid Waste Management Project to Clear Njeliyanparamba Dumping Yard for Biogas Plant
The Kerala Solid Waste Management Project will begin biomining at Njeliyanparamba dumping yard to reclaim 12.6 acres of land by clearing legacy waste. The recovered land will be handed over to Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited for a new compressed biogas plant.

The Kerala Solid Waste Management Project (KSWMP) is set to commence the scientific disposal of legacy waste at the Njeliyanparamba dumping yard in Kozhikode. The project will use biomining and bioremediation to clear decades of waste and reclaim 12.6 acres from the 17.5-acre site.
Waste will be categorized into reusable materials, including soil, plastic, metal, and wood, and disposed of according to environmental standards. Following this, a portion of the recovered land will be allocated to Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited for the development of a modern compressed biogas plant.
