Korea Dispatches Team to U.S. for Infrastructure Collaboration and MOUs
Korea's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport has dispatched a team to the U.S. from July 5 to 9 to enhance infrastructure collaboration. This mission includes signing MOUs for key projects and exploring new government-to-government (G2G) initiatives, aiming to strengthen Korean companies' participation in overseas construction.

From July 5 to 9, a support team led by Vice Minister Kim Yi-tak will engage in discussions with U.S. agencies to expand infrastructure collaboration. Key activities include signing an MOU for the Nevada Lithium and Boron Plant and meetings with the U.S.
Department of Energy and Department of Agriculture to explore G2G cooperation. This initiative follows the establishment of the '5th Overseas Construction Promotion Basic Plan,' which outlines strategies for advancing the overseas construction industry through technology and finance.
The Ministry aims to shift the focus towards high-value-added projects, including AI cities and carbon capture technologies, while enhancing competitiveness and securing funding for Korean firms. Risks associated with global finance dependency and the effectiveness of strategic partnerships may impact project outcomes.
