Lebanon Considers Conatser Family Property for Wastewater Treatment Facility
The city of Lebanon is exploring potential sites for a new wastewater treatment facility, prompting concerns from the Conatser family about possible land acquisition. The current plant, built in 1962, is inadequate for the city's growth, and the deadline for securing a property is September, coinciding with the expiration of federal funding.

Lebanon city officials are evaluating properties for a new wastewater treatment facility due to growth-related inadequacies of the existing plant. One identified site is a 52-acre parcel owned by the Conatser family at Hartmann Drive and Coles Ferry Pike.
The Conatser family previously lost land to eminent domain for an earlier facility and opposes selling their current property. The mayor has indicated a September deadline for property acquisition, aligning with federal funding expiration. Community opposition was voiced during a recent City Council meeting, indicating local resistance to the proposed location.
