On January 16, 2026, L'Oréal announced the first 13 companies selected as 'Change Agents' for the L'AcceleratOR program, which aims to invest €100 million over five years in scalable sustainable solutions. The initiative, in partnership with the University of Cambridge's Institute for Sustainability Leadership, focuses on climate, nature, and circularity innovation.
Gás Verde, the largest biogas producer in Latin America and the only Brazilian company chosen, was highlighted for its expertise in biogas production. The selected companies, from a pool of about 1,000 candidates across 101 countries, are working on next-generation packaging and ingredients from waste.
Pilot projects will last 6 to 9 months, with the potential for implementation in L'Oréal's global operations. Gás Verde aims to increase its biogas production from 160,000 m3/day to 650,000 m3/day by 2028 and plans to begin operating a new green CO2 production plant in Seropédica in 2026.
