Mahanagar Gas and BMC Sign MoU for Rs 500 Crore Biogas Plant in Mumbai
Mahanagar Gas has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation to develop a 1,000 TPD compressed biogas plant in Mumbai, with an investment of Rs 500 crore. The facility will process food and vegetable waste from BMC, aiming to improve waste management and produce organic fertilizer and green fuel. This initiative supports the petroleum ministry's objective of establishing 5,000 compressed biogas plants across India.
