Neste Expands Biobfuel Production to Become World's Largest Bio-Refinery by 2027
Neste is expanding its biofuel production at its Rotterdam refinery, aiming to become the largest bio-refinery globally by 2027 with a capacity of 2.7 megatons annually, including 1.2 megatons of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). The company is investing €2.5 billion in this expansion while traditional oil firms like BP and Shell are scaling back on biofuel projects.
