New Brixton Reservoir Completed to Enhance Johannesburg Water Supply
The completion of the Brixton reservoir and associated infrastructure aims to stabilize Johannesburg's water supply amidst growing demand and system aging. This project is part of broader efforts to ensure long-term water security in the region.

The Brixton reservoir, tower, and emergency pumping station have been completed, enhancing water supply stability in Johannesburg. Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi indicated that this infrastructure addresses issues arising from aging systems and maintenance backlogs.
The provincial government emphasizes its role in long-term water security and aligns with the Lesotho Highlands Water Project Phase 2 preparations. Although occasional shortages persist, these upgrades are expected to significantly improve the provincial water network's reliability. Continued investment in modern infrastructure is essential for ensuring water access across communities and businesses.
