Northern Biogas Receives Extension for $10M Payment to New Hampshire Solid Waste District
Northern Biogas has been granted an extension until January 1, 2028, to complete a $10 million payment to the Androscoggin Valley Regional Refuse Disposal District in New Hampshire. Following six prior extensions, the revised payment schedule includes $1 million due by April 15, 2026, and two additional payments of $3.9 million. The company plans to build a landfill gas-to-energy plant at the Mt Carberry landfill, expected to generate gross revenues between $107.8 million and $140.5 million over 20 years.

Northern Biogas has been granted an extension until January 1, 2028, to complete a $10 million payment to the Androscoggin Valley Regional Refuse Disposal District (AVRRDD) in New Hampshire. The payment schedule now requires $1 million by April 15, 2026, and two payments of $3.9 million by May 31, 2026, and January 1, 2028.
The company was selected in December 2024 to build and operate a landfill gas-to-energy plant at the Mt Carberry landfill. Once operational, AVRRDD is expected to receive between $107.8 million and $140.5 million in gross revenues over the contract's duration. Construction is anticipated to start in August 2025, pending necessary permits.
