Odin Space Establishes U.S. Office in Los Angeles for Orbital Debris Solutions
Odin Space is opening its first U.S. office in Los Angeles to cater to the growing demand for orbital debris analysis. The office will support satellite operators by providing critical information on debris threatening spacecraft operations.

Odin Space, a UK-based startup, announced on May 7 the establishment of its U.S. office in Los Angeles, led by Jerry Welsh, former CEO of Iceye U.S. The new location will focus on providing commercial and governmental satellite operators with data on sub-centimeter orbital debris, which poses significant risks to spacecraft due to its travel speed.
The company's product line includes the Nano Sensor for debris detection and insurance coverage against collisions, with underwriting from Lloyd's of London. Additionally, Odin is developing Outpost, a reconnaissance satellite for monitoring debris fields and potential kinetic attacks. This expansion highlights the urgent need for solutions to the increasing risks associated with orbital debris.
