Ogun State Seals Conoil and Moore Fuel Stations in Abeokuta for Lack of Public Toilets
The Ogun State Government has sealed two fuel stations in Abeokuta for not providing functional public toilets, violating environmental and health laws. Conoil Fuel Station and Moore Fuel Station were inspected by the Ogun State Taskforce on Environmental Compliance and Enforcement. Conoil has been ordered to provide a public toilet, while Moore must rehabilitate its facilities before reopening. The government has implemented measures to eradicate open defecation, including the installation of over 80 biogas toilets across the state.

The Ogun State Government has sealed two fuel stations in Abeokuta, Conoil and Moore, for failing to provide functional public toilet facilities, violating the Environmental Management (Miscellaneous Provisions) Law, 2006, and the Ogun State Public Health Law, 2020. The closures were ordered by the Commissioner for Environment, Dr.
Ola Oresanya, following an inspection by the Taskforce on Environmental Compliance and Enforcement. Conoil must provide a public toilet, while Moore must rehabilitate its non-functional toilets before resuming operations. The state has installed over 80 biogas public toilets through public-private partnerships to support efforts against open defecation.
